In celebration of “Golden Autumn”, on October 16, 2021, the FDA Experts Association held the North America Golden Autumn Party at Han Palace in North Bethesda, Maryland. Since its establishment in 2019 on the bank of West Lake in Hangzhou, China, the association has grown stronger under the leadership of its presidents (first President, He Ruyi; current President, Du Tao; President-elect, Li Ning) to become a group of nearly 100 people. Members reside throughout China and the United States, with new members continuously joining, including Liu Ke (Senior VP and Director of Regulatory Affairs & Strategy at Sana Biotechnology) and Wang Yaning (CEO of Createrna Science & Technology). New members have brought fresh ideas and broadened the scope of the FDA Experts Association. At present, members are from professional fields, such as clinical, pharmacology, CMC, statistics, medical devices, among others.

Evergreen Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd provided funding for the gathering, and Luan Jingyu, Men Yuxin and Du Xin organized and hosted the event. President Du Tao delivered a welcome speech and reported on association’s work progress for the first half of 2021 and work plans for 2022. Subsequently, more than 30 members had lively discussions about future work and activities of the association, formation of internal professional departments, and cooperation opportunities and models with other organizations. With practical but rigorous and science-based principles, members strived to develop the association into a unique professional group.

Finally, President Du Tao expressed his hopes to fully integrate the professional expertise of the association members, to support each other and achieve together by utilizing their invaluable FDA experiences to help bridge the Chinese and American pharmaceutical industries, and to contribute to the modernization of Sino-U.S. Drug Administration and Chinese pharmaceutical companies going overseas. He concluded with the Chinese idiom: “Today we drink tea together, so that tomorrow we may join hands to thrive together.”
